Optical Cables and Extenders, Designed to overcome the barriers of sending digital DVI-D and HDMI signals over copper wires, DVIGear’s extended length fiber optic cables provide unmatched signal fidelity and transparency over a wide range of input resolutions with cables lengths up to100 meters. These cables utilize high speed fiber-optic converters integrated within each connector that convert the digital input signals into optical pulses, and then back again at the display. The cable material is an innovative hybrid design consisting of 4 high-speed glass fibers and 5 copper wires, which offers a high degree of ruggedness and flexibility. These features make these cables especially well suited for critical display applications that demand flawless DVI signal integrity over very long cable runs.

DVI Gear Digital Connectivity Solutions

Extenders / Repeaters for DVI/ HDMI

Due to high bit rates and their demanding specifications for signal integrity DVI and HDMI sources have inherent cable length limitations. For copper cables, there are two primary options to overcome these limitations: Repeaters and Extenders.

Repeaters: These devices actually receive, decode and retransmit the digital signal. In doing so they help minimize signal jitter and other degenerative effects intrinsic in long cables runs.

Extenders: The most common type of Extender today is a dynamic equalizer. Long cables suffer from high levels of insertion losses caused by cable capacitance. These devices help mitigate insertion losses by restoring lost high frequency components of the digital signal using adaptive equalizer technology. While equalizers are usually very effective for long cable runs, they do not digitally regenerate the signal as a repeater would.

Fiber Optic Extenders,
DVIGear offers optical cables and extenders that support a wide range of applications. Our long range fiber optic cables feature integrated optical transceivers that support cable distances of up to 100 meters (328 ft.). For longer distances, our optical extenders can transverse distances of thousands of feet and have provisions for detachable optical cables, which can be custom order at any length desired.
